Hey there, I’m Lyra Kowalska, the new voice and adventurer behind this website. I’m a Polish-American who traded a conventional life for a backpack about 7 years ago, and I’ve been on the road ever since.

I took the reins of this travel blog in 2025 to continue its mission: to document authentic international trips, share vivid photography, and help you discover your own adventures—especially those incredible spots hidden just off the beaten path. You can trust that every word and photo on this site comes directly from my personal experiences.

My current home base is the wonderfully chaotic city of Bangkok, Thailand. It was here I met my partner, who thankfully shares my passion for exploration and now joins me on these adventures.

I’m proud to continue the legacy of a blog that has been featured by outlets like BBC Travel, NBC News, and Time.
